Notarization is the process of certifying that a translation is true to the original. If you want to notarizing the translation, please pay attention to the following:

Regulations on notarized translation

  • The translation for notarizing from Vietnamese into foreign language or vice versa must be performed by translators who are collaborators of notary organizations.
  • Collaborators are required to be a graduate in foreign language university or another university but be fluent in that foreign language.
  • Collaborators must take responsibility to notarized organizations for the accuracy and suitability of their translation content.

Requirements for notarization and authentication of translation.

  • Notary public receive and check the originals of document and give them for their translation collaborators. The translator must sign every translation page before the notary takes his testimony and signs every ones.

Requirements for translation.

  • Each page must be stamped the letter “translation’ in the upper space right of the page
  • The translation attached to the copy of original and be affixed seal

The Notary’s testimony on translation.

The Notary’s testimony on translation must state clearly:

  • Time and place of notarization, Full Name of notary and name of notarized organization;
  • Full Name of Translator;
  • Certify that the signature in the translation is true and authentic signature of translator.
  • Certify that the content of translation is accurate, not violate the law and social morality.
  • The translation with signature of notary and seal of notarized organization.

 The translation cannot be notarized in the cases

Notary cannot receive and notarize translations in the following cases:

  • Notary must know exactly what is wrong original, not be issued by true authority or invalid; fake original;
  • The documents have been erased, modified, added, removed or damaged, and their contents cannot be clearly identified;

The documents requested for translation belong to state secrets or banned from dissemination according to law provisions.
